If you’re reading this, you’ve probably either had experience with both good and bad psychics, or you’re shopping around to make sure you get a good psychic when you finally book a reading.

For a while now, I’ve been thinking about writing an article about good versus bad psychics. Now bear in mind, when I talk about good or bad, it’s a LOT more than just whether they were accurate.  Continue reading

Zodianz & Kelly Lightworker Answers: Am I A Healer?

[Photo by Ahmed Saffu on Unsplash]

Kelly is a psychic medium and channel. She offers Tarot readings, animal communication sessions, energy healings, and other lightwork services. She is based in Singapore.

Joan Zodianz, astrologer, Tarot reader and psychic medium, has begun a new Q&A column on her awesome website, where we answer questions sent in each month by Joan’s readers.

I’m so excited and honoured to be the guest writer for August 2017! Love and many, many thanks to Zodianz for the opportunity. #soulsista

I’m addressing this question from a reader:

“There was a time when my daughter and I was in a park feeding pigeons. A guys at his 40’s I guess… approached us and we talked for a while. He told me that I am a healer because he saw this smoke (flame) from my hands though my hands felt normal that day… He said it’s up to me to answer that calling. He said he could help me if I liked to. He also preached God’s words to me that day. And I was prayed over by him. Honestly I wasn’t so sure if I’ll believe him because who am I to possess such gift? Zodians how would I and the other’s like me know that they do possess a special gift and what kind of gift it might Be? I am hoping you could help me because if what that guy (I called him Kuya Ting) told me was real then I’ll try to consider the things that I could do to help others with that gift. It will be an honor.”

Live each day as if it were your first. Not your last.

Kelly is a natural-born Spirit channel, psychic medium and lightworker based in Singapore. A gifted oracle, she offers Angel and Tarot readings, animal communication sessions, and energy healing services.

Dear one,

This is a season of change. Developments have arisen that have taken your breath away. You’re not quite sure what to expect next.

Do not fear. The Universe continues to provide for the tiniest ant, the littlest sparrow. Surely your life is worth as much, if not more than, an ant’s or a sparrow’s!

You were born with a spark of the Divine within you. You have much to live for – even if you cannot see the blessing yet.

Don’t try to force change to go your way. Why kick against the goads? Hasn’t this season of change shown you that so much of what you think you control is only an illusion?

Give of your best with what you have, then let go and live. Let your heart be pure, and allow the Universe to do the rest.

You have heard it said, “Live each day as if it were your last”. Dear one, in the midst of life’s unceasing changes and challenges, we say to you: live each day as if it were your first.

“we say to you: live each day as if it were your first…”

Greet each day with hope, joy, and an open and eager heart. Let your being be filled with love, the light of truth, and the willingness to forgive. See the beauty around you; acknowledge and honour the Divine in everything, everyone, everywhere around you. Then look within: love and thank yourself for the opportunity to arise and greet the new day.

So live each day as if it were your first – not your last. Because your Soul is immortal, even as your body, circumstances, worries and fears are only temporary. There is no ‘last day’. And therefore, there is always hope.

“… Because your Soul is immortal.”

Dear one, you have so much to live for. Do not be afraid.

The line, “Live each day as if it were your first”, was part of a series of messages from Spirit channelled by my beloved teacher and mentor, Jasmine Miller (http://www.angelsandlight.net), on 4 December 2016. This line resonated powerfully with me and grew within my spirit, healing and comforting me greatly.

Over the next three days, this line developed into another Spirit message that I eventually channelled, typing on my Macbook in a crowded fast-food joint on the evening of 6 December.

That’s Spirit for you: always evolving, ever loving and wise, and ready to speak with those willing to listen – whether you’re at MOS Burger in a downtown mall, or at a five-star spiritual retreat in the Himalayas.

May this message richly bless those who read it.

This Week’s Tarot, 5-11 Dec 2016

I mentioned in last weekend’s post that Mercury would be entering Capricorn on 2 December, injecting our social lives with a dose of practicality and possibly some much-needed quality control. In This Week’s Tarot, warm-hearted Venus (planetary ruler of relationships) enters cool-headed Aquarius on 7 December. Universal energies encourage us to balance out the self-indulgent, feel-good vibes of this festive season with calm detachment and goodwill to everyone.

And with that, here’s This Week’s Tarot!

LEFT: THE MOON, REVERSED. The Moon, when upright, usually depicts deep confusion and the need to heed our intuition. When reversed, the confusion is over, but we’re still trapped in uncertainty and excuses. Dear one, the end of the year is almost upon us. If you’re reading this and hoping for your life to get better next year, but you’re not actually doing anything about it, you are enacting Einstein’s definition of insanity: doing exactly the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.

Could the Tarot be calling out some readers who are, to put it kindly, acting in a less than rational manner? Insanity, or lunacy, has long been associated with the influence of the lunar cycle. This Week’s Tarot starts with an upside-down full moon. Hmmm.

MIDDLE: SIX OF SWORDS. If Einstein’s notion of nuttiness is doing the same thing and expecting different results, then his concept of sanity would be the Six of Swords – choosing to change. In this card, a young man and his mother brave choppy waters for calmer, brighter horizons. What areas in your life necessitate some form of forward movement, and breaking away from what no longer serves you? Perhaps it’s time to channel your energies into change.

RIGHT: SEVEN OF RODS. This card represents self-assertion: it highlights the need for us to know who we are and what we stand for, in the face of almost inevitable opposition (because it is human nature to desire comfort and avoid change). In the Seven of Rods, a man armed with a Rod stands his ground against six unseen, similarly armed assailants. He’s outnumbered, but he won’t give up. Could this card be calling you to action?

“Perhaps it’s time to channel your energies into change.”

The beginning of any decision to change is scary. But choosing to stay put and wait for change to fall on your lap is even worse – it takes your birthright and power of free will away from you. Dear one, you were born to take charge of your life, to co-create your highest destiny in tandem with the Universe. Only three weeks more and then 2016 will be over. Maybe it’s time to renew some aspects of yourself to greet the New Year.

Is your social circle helping or hurting you? Mercury in Capricorn suggests some tweaks to the company you keep. Stuck in toxic situations with difficult people? Maybe it’s time to move out and find your own place, have The Talk with a less-than-satisfactory partner, or fine-tune your resume. Venus in Aquarius advises us to be kind, but also to maintain the emotional calm needed to make positive changes in our lives.

Have a great week ahead! 🙂

Sometimes we break so we can heal… but our stories aren’t over yet.

Once, when I was seven, I fell while playing with friends and dislocated my left elbow. My mother whisked me off to a sinseh, a traditional Chinese physician who yanked my swollen limb hither and thither until we all heard a loud crack, and I could move my arm again.

My left arm was healed. Or so we thought. Over the weeks that followed the swelling subsided, but then my mother noticed that I couldn’t straighten my left arm fully. Also, the elbow joint stuck out at a slightly unnatural angle, and that arm was considerably weaker than before.

You can’t fool a Cantonese mother. (Especially not when she’s the one you inherited your gifts from.) Ignoring my protests, she took me to another sinseh – an old man with a long white beard, who took one look at my poor left arm and said:

“It’s still out of joint, but I can reset it.”

He instructed me to bend my left arm. Then he took out a long strip of coarse, off-white linen, draped it over the crook of my arm, and pulled.

And pulled.

POP! Suddenly the agony ceased; a deep wave of relief overtook me. The niggling numbness and discomfort that had dogged my left arm – and that I’d grown to ignore, until my mother stepped in – was gone, completely.

The sinseh placed a poultice of aromatic herbs around my newly reset elbow joint, then wrapped it with a long strip of yellowed linen.

“I’ll change the herbs and bandages in a fortnight, then in a fortnight after that, and you’ll be healed in six weeks,” he said gravely. “You’re a lucky little girl. If you’d waited a day or two longer, your elbow would have set – at the wrong angle. I would’ve had to dislocate your elbow again just to heal it.”

Darren clearly had trust issues. At least, they were as clear as the vision I saw.

As a clairvoyant, one of my strongest Spiritual senses is sight. When I tune in to a client, I “see” information about that person that Spirit deems appropriate for me to know in order to help.

The vision I had of Darren was a puppy, its right hind leg broken and curled towards its body in a defensive posture. The puppy stood forlornly in the middle of a flowing stream, injured, alone, and uncertain of where to go. The puppy represented Darren’s emotional state: trapped in the flow of changes around him, afraid and unable to move forward because of deep emotional wounds. Usually, such visions indicate a need to identify the source of the hurt, to release forgiveness and commit to a period of inner healing.

Darren nodded when I explained the vision to him. “Sounds like me. I grew up in a broken household – my dad used to get drunk and hit my mum. Finally he walked out and never came back. I don’t trust people easily. But it’s not always my fault. My ex-girlfriend really pushed my buttons. When I found out she was cheating on me, I confronted her and she dumped me just like that. It happened last year.”

– I’m sorry to hear that. How did you find out?
“I hacked into her mobile phone from my laptop.”
– (Sigh.) Darren, a lot of healing needs to be done here. Besides Spiritual assistance, I’d like you to consider energy healing and some counselling.

Darren nodded. “I’ll consider it… eventually. But for now I’d like to ask about this girl I’ve just met.” For a moment, his eyes lit up. “I want to know if Melissa’s the one for me.”

The cards he picked were: Ten of Swords, Six of Pentacles, The Wheel of Fortune, and The World.

– Darren, this looks like a relationship with some karmic elements in it. It appears that that you and your partner have known each other from past lives. You’ve arranged to meet again in this life to iron out karmic kinks and grow with each other. The Six of Pentacles shows me that your relationship with Melissa, both then and now, gave you great happiness. The Wheel of Fortune indicates that this time, it could go either way; it’s usually a more optimistic card, but the Ten of Swords – I call this the “crash and burn” card – indicates that a lot of inner work needs to be done for this relationship to work. Either way, The World is here to reassure you that what’s meant to happen will happen, so long as you’re willing to take responsibility for your inner healing, and co-create your destiny with the Universe for your highest and greatest good.

Darren looked disturbed.

– What’s wrong?
“She’s so beautiful. Will she cheat on me, too?”
– Wait, you’re a couple already?
“Not yet, but we’ve been dating for a couple of months now.”
– Darren, you need to CHILL. And work on healing those trust issues before they hurt a perfectly good, soon-to-be relationship with Melissa.
“Is she cheating on me?”
– She’s not even your girlfriend yet. Darren, calm down. She obviously likes you, everything is going in your favour, but you have crashed and burned emotionally and you must heal, for your sake and hers. Only you can make that decision to go for counselling and energy healing. Please consider it.

*          *          *

Two weeks later, Hashim – the client who recommended Darren to me – called.

“Kelly, I trust you and I know you wouldn’t say anything to sabotage your clients’ wellbeing. And knowing Darren as I do, I’m pretty sure it’s self-sabotage.

“Darren had a huge public fight with Melissa last week. He accused her of cheating on him with a random stranger she said hi to. He cut her out of his life, and he’s been drinking himself blind since.”

*          *          *

Healing is never a straight or simple path. And many times, our loved ones are the ones who uncover our unhealed vulnerabilities.

Darren’s deep wounds, stemming from his abusive childhood and recently ended relationship, had left him emotionally broken and spiritually disjointed. Until he takes those steps towards healing, his pain will follow him and influence every decision he makes, sabotaging his chances at happiness.

But the Universe is kind. And in Her own way, the Universe will continue to send opportunities to expose Darren’s areas of wounding and weakness – in order to heal.

Darren can choose to hide behind alcohol, like his father. He can continue to project his fears on other people, such as Melissa, then cut them off – and in a sense, cut himself off from a chance at happiness.

Or Darren can choose to be brave and work on himself. Take responsibility for his blind spots and injuries. Seek help, healing and assistance from Spirit and from other people.

Darren’s destiny is his to decide. Right now, Darren is in a dark place. But that doesn’t mean his story is over – far from it.

I’m sharing this story to remind us all that THIS IS LIFE. I’m a lightworker and this is a spiritual website, but let’s not ignore the fact that pain and darkness also co-exist alongside love and light. It’s not always rainbows and unicorns.

Sometimes, with a long-standing injury, one must break and re-break in order to begin healing.

If this is your situation – you’re stuck in a holding pattern of dysfunction in any aspect of your life – I want you to understand that your story isn’t over yet. The Universe is watching, waiting for you to arise and co-create your life with Her. And Spirit is cheering you on, ever ready to assist you once you ask.

May the love and light of Spirit guide your path as you break out of that pattern, towards the bright and happy future that you desire.

This Week’s Tarot, 26 Sept – 2 Oct 2016

(Sorry I had to use a generic pic as this post’s featured image. Facebook was being idiotic again. Anyway if you came to this post via FB, here’s the actual pic for This Week’s Tarot!)

Thank you to everyone who popped by Public Garden last weekend, either for a reading or a chat! 🙂 It was wonderful to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. I’m typing this in bed, totally zonked out but happy, and feeling very loved indeed. <3

This Week’s Tarot indicates that the coming week has the potential to be a game-changer if we play our cards right (see what I did there, haha). All three cards are Major Arcana, indicating that Universal forces are playing a more-than-usually significant role in the developments and outcomes of many events this week. So let’s work with the Universe to co-create our best possible destinies!

This week starts with a bang… a good one! On Monday 26 September, the Sun meets Jupiter (the planet of good fortune and expansiveness) in peace-loving, go-getting Libra. Lift those Monday blues with the assurance that, in terms of Universal energies, this Monday is one of the luckiest days of the year. Amp up your luck quotient by taking on this Libra season’s graces: focus on balance and harmony within yourself and in relationships with others.

It’s also interesting to note that this week’s Moon phase is waning, with a new Moon on 30 September/ 1 October. The energies of a waning Moon are conducive to getting rid of the old, and the new Moon sets the stage for us to usher in the new.

Since this is Libra season, the focus is particularly strong on relationships and partnerships. Could it be time to drop that toxic frenemy once and for all? Do you feel lucky – and brave – enough to ask that hottie from Accounts out for a quick coffee? Hmmm… decisions, decisions! 😉

Universal energies in mind, here’s This Week’s Tarot!

LEFT: THE HIGH PRIESTESS REVERSED. When the High Priestess appears reversed, get over your self-doubt and learn to trust your intuition. Dear one, perhaps you’ve just come through a tough time where missteps were made, and your confidence in your instincts has been shaken badly. Have no fear. Take some time out. Get some fresh air; exercise or meditate, do what you need to focus and re-centre yourself. The answers are still there, within your soul. Calm the inner storm and eventually, the voice of your intuition will be heard once again.

MIDDLE: JUSTICE REVERSED. What goes around, comes around. Justice in the Tarot is the personification of Karma. When Lady Justice is reversed, something unfair is happening in your vicinity. Make sure it’s not you causing the injustice because Karma bites hard. If you’re being affected by unjust treatment, it’s not likely to be something you can actually change, in which case, consider your options clearly and logically before taking the next step. Think long-term solution, not short-term evasion or confrontation. And don’t fret: trust that the Universe will take matters into Her own hands and restore the karmic balance in time.

RIGHT: DEATH. Nothing to fear here, folks! In the Tarot, Death represents change and transformation. Remember the waning/new Moon, disposing of the old and welcoming the new? This is exactly what we’re talking about. The energy for transitions is rising, and that’s a good thing. Don’t fight Universal energies… work with them. Let go of old, self-limiting mindsets, relationships and situations that no longer serve your highest good. Some doors must close in order that better ones open. The short-term discomfort we experience will be more than amply rewarded by the joy of knowing that the future is bright, and the best is yet ahead of us.

The door is opening. The Universe, your guardian Angels and deceased loved ones are watching over you and cheering you on. Will you take that step?

Be brave and be blessed. Have a great week ahead! 😀

Weekend Spirit Message, 23-25 Sept 2016: Cupid.

This weekend is the first of the Libra season. Under the auspices of the Scales, the focus is on balance, fairness, and harmony; we’re still in the shadow period of the Mercury retrograde (this lasts until 6 Oct), but the mishaps and miscommunications of this period are softened and balanced out by Jupiter in Libra, where everyone’s luck quotient gets kicked up a notch, yay!

So there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel – all the more with this weekend’s Angel card! When Cupid appears, it is safe to open your heart to the exciting possibilities that life, love and the Universe can offer. (Remember to keep your eyes and mind open as well!) It could be a new or revitalised relationship, a renewed passion for life, a change in career or job scope that gets you really excited, or a fascinating hobby.

Go ahead and try something new that sets your heart a-flutter. It’s all good. <3
Have fun and be safe!

Why I do what I do: snippets from my Tarot readings at public events, Part 1.

June 2015. My mobile phone had been beeping almost non-stop for hours. Suitcase in tow, I smiled. Hang on, guys, my hands are full now! But my SMS and WhatsApp notifications kept up their merry tones as I entered Suntec Convention Hall for the inaugural Public Garden Consumer Trade Show.

Once I’d finished setting up my booth, I could finally reply to the texts and a couple of missed calls. I knew what most of these would be asking me: Kelly, are you there yet? Where’s your booth? How long is the queue? I’ll get you something to eat, what would you like?

(Much love to the wonderful clients and friends who remind me to take meals/breaks during Public Garden events… you know who you are!) 😉

I’d barely sat down when the first seeker turned up. And so the day began.

*          *          *

A reading is really a very simple thing. Even more so when it’s only fifteen minutes long, in the middle of a buzzing hipster market.

I begin every reading with a simple prayer of intention for the highest love and light to touch the seeker’s life. Then, I hold the cards in my hands and cleanse them with prayer, clearing out all old energies and filling them with God’s light so that they will be a pure, clear channel for Spirit to convey the best guidance, healing and insight to the seeker.

Then the reading starts… And once it begins, anything goes.

Sometimes the seeker asks a question and chooses the cards to obtain Spirit’s answers. Sometimes the cards pop up by themselves while I’m shuffling. Sometimes guardian Angels, Spirit guides and deceased loved ones come forward to channel messages through me, without waiting for the cards!

But one thing all these phenomena have in common: they occur as signs – for us to understand that Spirit is on our side and wants only the best for us. That we are loved and not alone. That we have the right, responsibility and power to co-create our destinies.

And that in the larger scheme of things, no matter how badly our lives seem to toss and turn – the Universe is kind. All will be well.

*          *          *

“Hi, Kelly!” It was Alexis, a client of mine. Beside her was another young woman who kept her head lowered and hidden under her cap.

– Hey babe. Here for a reading?

“Not for me today but could my friend CeeCee just… cut the queue? I saw eight names on the waiting list and she can’t wait that long.”

– Sorry babe, I would love to do you a favour but I have to be fair. For public events I only accept walk-ins, no appointments, and no cutting the line.

I smiled conciliatorily at Alexis, who smiled and nodded understandingly. Behind her, CeeCee glanced up shyly but didn’t look at me. Her face was drawn and tired, her eyes sad and dark. She was beautiful, but damaged – a swan who’d convinced herself she was an unloved and ugly duckling.

CeeCee whispered into Alexis’ ear and left quickly. “Sorry about that, Kelly,” Alexis said as we watched her blend into the crowd. “CeeCee says she’ll book a reading with you next week.”

– No worries, babe. Anyway, that’s my two-minute break over. Next, please!

*          *          *

Hannah crept into the hall fifteen minutes before the Consumer Trade Show ended. She stood by uncertainly, watching me as I finished up a reading.

Then the other seeker got up and left. Hannah froze for a moment, then stepped up to my booth while I was cleansing the cards in prayer.

“Hi, Kelly.” Her voice was flat and faltering – the voice of a woman who hadn’t slept for days. “I’ve been following your Facebook page for a while. I’ve never had a reading before, but I need help.”

I’d already given twenty readings in six hours that day. I was exhausted. But one look at Hannah’s anguished face, and I knew I could give one more.

I smiled, and began shuffling.
– Sure, hun. Sit down.

Almost instantly, the cards began to pop out of the deck.
Crisis. Adultery. Heartbreak. Suicide. Abandonment.

I don’t need to go into the details. But Hannah came seeking help from Spirit at a desperately low point in her life, and Spirit came through for her powerfully – in perfect love, compassion and clarity. As I gave her a hug before she left, Hannah turned her tear-streaked face towards me and whispered, brokenly:

“Thank you for what you do. Thank you. Thank you.”

*          *          *

So why do I do what I do?

Simple: because I love it. It’s my calling: connecting ordinary people with the extraordinary love and light of Spirit. And guess what? If you’re in Singapore, and you’ve always wondered what it’s like to have a Tarot reading with me…

I’ll be at the Public Garden Consumer Trade Show this weekend on 24-25 Sept 2016, offering quickie Angel/Tarot card readings! Details here + below. See you there! 🙂

This Week’s Tarot, 19-25 Sept 2016

This week’s day of note is Thursday, 22 September 2016. First, the Sun moves out of logical, perfectionist Virgo into loving, light-hearted Libra. Let’s welcome the season of harmony, relationships and peace-making! Another thing to note is that the Mercury retrograde officially ends on Thursday too, but we’re not out of the woods yet – the shadow period lingers for another fortnight until Thursday, 6 October. But it’s all good, and for those of you who got the short end of the stick during this retrograde, at least there’s light at the end of the tunnel (yay for optimism, another trait associated with Libra!).

With all that in mind, here’s This Week’s Tarot!

LEFT: KNIGHT OF PENTACLES. With this Knight, the message is “slow and steady wins the race”. The Knight of Pentacles is also someone who’s pragmatic, rational, and responsible. We’re still in the thick of the Mercury retrograde, so in the final week of analytical Virgo season, take extra precautions to dot your i’s and cross your t’s in whatever you’re doing. Stick to the rules and the established routines – now is not the time to be a maverick. This card could also refer to someone in your life who possesses the qualities mentioned earlier, and who might play a pivotal role in this week’s events.

MIDDLE: SIX OF SWORDS REVERSED. Upright, the Six of Swords represents change. It’s also interesting that the upright Six of Swords was featured in last week’s Tarot message. When reversed, change may be thwarted or non-existent; the man in the boat seems to be paddling furiously but going nowhere. If your plans for change and improvement have hit a snag, it’s time for some serious Virgoan introspection about how you can tweak your approach to get the results you want. Maybe there’s a clue in the next card…

RIGHT: TWO OF PENTACLES. This card represents inner equilibrium, the balance of priorities in a world that often tests our multi-tasking abilities. The question to ask is: Have you got your FOCUS on the RIGHT priorities, and in the RIGHT order?

This week may feel like you’re paddling in a boat but getting nowhere. Still, don’t give up! Take a practical, undramatic approach to things; pace yourself prudently and clarify your focus on the many priorities clamouring for your attention. You’ll get there in the end.

Have a great week ahead! 🙂
