This Thursday, 9 March, Mars moves out of fiery, tempestuous Aries and into grounded, resilient Taurus until 21 April. Mars is the warrior planet and commander-in-chief of our energies, actions and desires, i.e. how we fight our battles, build our empires, and make sweet love. Universal energies are winding down for a while, giving us crucial space to consolidate and make real progress on the endeavours that we began earlier this year.

So once Thursday lumbers along, let’s welcome a slower and steadier pace of working towards our goals. After the sound and fury of 2017 so far, some stability can be a good thing.

With that in mind, let’s get to This Week’s Tarot. Here we go!

LEFT: PAGE OF CUPS REVERSED. The Page of Cups upright represents a sweet, childlike, emotionally open temperament that is sensitive, trusting, and helpful. Reversed, the Tarot is gently shaking some of us awake: it’s time to grow up, get real, and take a good look at a person, issue or situation in your life that’s been allowed to get out of hand. A pragmatic and objective new perspective would be welcome right now; it’s interesting to note that Mars in Taurus also supports a take-no-prisoners, no-more-excuses approach to things.

It’s time to grow up, get real, and take a good look at a person, issue or situation in your life that’s been allowed to get out of hand.

MIDDLE: ACE OF CUPS. This is a lovely card to get! The Ace of Cups represents opportunities for emotional and spiritual breakthroughs. While the reversed Page of Cups urges us to get real, the Ace of Cups encourages us to be real – to be clear about what we want out of our lives, and to express ourselves in a way that is authentic, wise, and promotes the best interests of all.

There is incredible joy and freedom when we allow our lives to be guided by our Higher Selves, and I welcome you to try it!

RIGHT: QUEEN OF RODS REVERSED. When this card appears reversed, be aware of some negativity around you, especially petty, gossipy, petulant and self-entitled energies. The upside-down Queen of Rods is the Drama Queen of the Tarot, and she takes many forms. The Office Bitch? The Catty Frenemy? The Clingy Yet Vengeful Martyr? Whatever it is, for the love of the Divine, please don’t let that be you.

It’s interesting to note that quite literally, at the heart of This Week’s Tarot, the Ace of Cups and emotional/spiritual rejuvenation beckons – but we’ll need to apply ourselves and deal with the lower energies, negative patterns, and toxic people that get in the way of our own highest good. Not easy, but not impossible. So let’s get to work.

Have a wonderful week ahead!
