This week, the waning Moon culminates in a New Moon in Aquarius on Friday, 27 January. If setting and following resolutions haven’t gone quite as planned so far, you can always start again – tweaking your resolutions, in the spirit of Aquarius season, to be more spiritually uplifting and focused on the greater good.
Peeps in my part of the world, if you’re celebrating the Lunar New Year (I am!), 恭喜发财 and Happy New Year of the Rooster! The energies of the waning Moon encourage the release of the old in order to welcome the new – also known as SPRING CLEANING, folks, that good old pre-Lunar New Year tradition of cleaning the house before the Yin (female energy) Fire Rooster takes over the roost.
恭喜发财 and Happy New Year of the Rooster!
No excuses, my darlings, just do it. You’ll be so glad you did: de-cluttering our physical environs can play a crucial role in clearing our minds and cleansing our souls, especially for those of you whose 2016 was a roller-coaster ride. SPRING CLEANING RULES, Y’ALL.
“de-cluttering our physical environs can play a crucial role in clearing our minds and cleansing our souls”
With that in mind, let’s get down to This Week’s Tarot!
LEFT: SIX OF CUPS REVERSED. Upright, the Six of Cups represents nostalgia and childhood innocence. When this card appears ill-dignified (upside-down), it’s time to take off those rose-tinted glasses and leave behind old habits, mindsets, relationships and situations. (Very apt for spring cleaning this week!) It might help to make a list of whom or what in your life you’d like to keep or begin the process of release + detachment from.
“time to take off those rose-tinted glasses and leave behind old habits, mindsets, relationships and situations”
MIDDLE: FIVE OF RODS. In the Tarot, the number Five is associated with change and growth through rivalry or adversity. The Five of Rods speaks of diverse opinions and the potential for disagreements (reunion dinner drama, anyone?). Thankfully, no real harm is being done – keep your cool, seek to understand different mindsets where possible, and agree to disagree.
RIGHT: THE TOWER REVERSED. Here’s the zinger in this week’s spread! Spirit is giving us a heads up for the rest of 2017: either we let go of the old energies on our own terms, or the Universe might step in and release us from those old constraints, on Her own terms – and it might not be pretty or comfortable when She does it!
“either we let go of the old energies on our own terms, or the Universe might step in and release us… on Her own terms”
No worries, though. Remember that the Universe is kind, that Spirit seeks our highest and greatest good as far as we allow it to happen, and that we are the co-creators of our destinies through our intentions, thoughts and actions. If you’ve been slacking your way through life and not taking responsibility for how things turn out, it’s time to shape up. According to numerology, 2017 is a Number 1 year, the year of intentions and beginnings. Release the old and welcome the new. Build (and re-build) your foundations so that when the Universe comes to shake things up, you’ll be strong.
“we are the co-creators of our destinies through our intentions, thoughts and actions.”
Have a great week ahead!
