Yet another asskicker of a week – are you getting used to it yet? Btw, I’ve just reached home after my first Basic Tarot workshop! It was great fun and now I’m happily exhausted, which is why I’m delivering this week’s astro deets in point form (ha!):
- On 21 Aug, we have a total solar eclipse in Leo – aka The Great American Eclipse. It’s not visible in Singapore, but will be seen across large swathes of North America. Eclipses bring about powerful beginnings, endings, and turning points in our lives. Many astrologers are predicting that this eclipse could well signal the end of the current POTUS, whose rising sign is Leo. We’ll see. - On 22 Aug, the Sun enters Virgo. Virgo season = Universal energies are analytical, meticulous, and detail-oriented. Time to focus.
- Also on 22 Aug, at 2:30 am in Singapore, we have a New Moon – the second in Leo. This doesn’t happen often, and indicates that the Universe is extending the window of time we need to get the inner work done (the Moon = our subconscious + hidden issues). New Moons = new beginnings. Also, Leo invites us to contemplate our self-worth, and assess whether we’re making heart-centred choices that co-create our best life.
- I just want to add at this point that August 2017 has been a mofo to many – I know, I know. Leaving aside the astrological shit-hits-fan intensity of it all, let’s talk numerology for a minute: August 2017 vibrates to the energy of Number 9, which is the number of closures, things coming full circle, and the necessary ‘deaths’/endings that must happen in order for us to move on to the next cycle in our lives. The rest of the year gets better.

LEFT: THE FOOL REVERSED. Even in the reversed position, the Fool is a largely positive omen to get. The Fool represents the promise of new beginnings; when this card appears upside-down, the focus is more on looking before you leap + mustering the courage to start, and start well.
MIDDLE: TEN OF PENTACLES. This is the card of family, abundance, and wealth. It can also refer to property and inheritance. When this card appears, know that what you desire is on its way – sometimes there’s a long route to take before you get to where you want to be, but if you’re willing to be diligent, practical, and trustworthy (all typical Pentacles traits), you will achieve what you’ve set out to accomplish.

RIGHT: ACE OF PENTACLES. Aces in the Tarot represent new potential + opportunities, and the Ace of Pentacles means that an opportunity to make your plans a practical reality is coming your way. In my readings, I’ve found that there’s often a condition attached to this Ace. Check out the pic on the card: a hand holding a Pentacle extends from the heavens, and there’s a path leading up to the hand. The condition is this:
