Welcome to the first weekend of 2017! Hopefully this year has been gentle so far. As I’ve said before (and I’ll gladly recap), 2017 is a Number 1 year – the year of new beginnings. We are building and rebuilding after the transformative energies of 2016 (a Number 9 year – the year of endings and closures). It’s absolutely crucial that we leave behind the old mindsets, habits, relationships and situations that belong in the past, with the recently concluded nine-year cycle, and move into a new cycle of growth and development.

This Saturday, the Sun conjuncts Pluto, planet of change and transformation. Light will be shed on aspects of the shadow side within us; Universal energies encourage us to reflect on our lives and question what needs to be changed.
2017 is here, but many of us are still bringing into this new year lots of old energies that hinder our progress and our pursuit of happiness. If you’ve been feeling stuck… Time to reflect, review, see what you can do to start moving forward. Maybe a walk in nature to reflect on some issues, a forgiveness + release ritual, a simple goal-visualisation meditation, or resetting some resolutions? Whatever you need to get started on living fully in the present year. Folks, you do NOT want to party like it’s 1999 2016!

And what about the Mercury retrograde that 2017 started off with? Mercury goes direct on Sunday 8 January, but to play very safe, continue to be especially mindful with all things tech, communication, and travel until 28 January (but for those who aren’t too badly affected, you should start seeing improvements from 23 January).
All in all, this weekend is an excellent time to catch up with the most important person in our lives – ourselves – and make sure we’re up-to-date with what we need to do and where we’re going from here. Have a great weekend!
