Happy Lunar/Astrological New Year! On Monday, 27 March, the New Moon in Aries ushers in a spanking new series of lunar cycles, giving us all a wonderful opportunity to set our intentions, clarify our goals and work with Universal energies to turn them into reality. Numerologically speaking, 2017 vibrates to the energies of Number 1. It’s the Year of Intention, folks – so let’s make the most of this New Moon to blast off! Plucky Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and known for its  guts, impulsivity and willingness to start new initiatives. This week is a great time to set our sights on what we want to achieve, then act. And, as the line goes, May the odds be ever in your favour! Continue reading

Awwwright!!! This weekend is the Lunar New Year: also the New Moon in Aquarius, which I discussed earlier in This Week’s Tarot. We welcome the Yin (female energy) Fire Rooster to rule the roost for the coming Lunar Year. Under the auspices of the Yin Fire Rooster, leadership and new ventures are encouraged, so long as we balance out our grand plans with a good dose of quiet self-confidence, patience, and humility. Go ahead, wake the world with your accomplishments – just  maintain the crowing and preening at discreet levels! Continue reading

This Week’s Tarot, 26 Dec 2016 – 1 Jan 2017

Kelly is a natural-born Spirit channel, psychic medium and lightworker based in Singapore. A gifted oracle, she offers Angel and Tarot card readings, animal communication sessions, and energy healing services.

On Thursday 29 December, we welcome the final New Moon of the Year in ambitious Capricorn: a great time to start on resolution planning for 2017. New Moons carry with them the energy of new beginnings, and a New Moon in Cardinal Earth sign Capricorn encourages us to focus on practical, productive concerns.

Bear in mind, however, that the Mercury retrograde is in Capricorn as well. No big shakes, folks, just take care to make your #2017goals clear, honest, and as focused on the greatest good as possible. It’s all well and good to aspire towards a job promotion, getting married, and/or moving house in 2017, but what are your intentions in doing so? Be honest with yourself about where you are right now and where you want to be this time next year – that’s the first step to attaining your goals. You can do this!

“BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF ABOUT WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW AND WHERE YOU WANT TO BE THIS TIME NEXT YEAR.”

Here we go, for the last time in 2016 – This Week’s Tarot!

LEFT: SEVEN OF SWORDS. This card is often associated with dishonest and secretive behaviour. Known as the Thief’s Card, the message here is that what you think, feel, say or do when you think no one’s looking, in order to achieve your agenda and evade detection, will often be exposed to the public gaze in surprising (not to say embarrassing) ways.

In this spread, I’m getting the vibe that Spirit is encouraging us to leave old issues and shameful secrets behind as we say good riddance bye to 2016. It could be depression, an addiction, bad debts, an affair; if you have been living a lie and you’re afraid to let others know about it, perhaps it’s time to let go of the inner demon(s) and seek help. There’s no shame in getting assistance to turn your life around for the better. A New Year beckons, and a new you. Don’t let the old lies and secrets steal your joy.

“IF YOU HAVE BEEN LIVING A LIE… PERHAPS IT’S TIME TO LET GO OF THE INNER DEMON(S) AND SEEK HELP.”

MIDDLE: THE STAR REVERSED. When this card appears ill-dignified (upside-down), you may be feeling bogged down by a general sense of pessimism and dread of what 2017 might bring. So much has happened in 2016 that many of us have little idea of what to expect next. However, The Star is still a powerfully positive omen even when reversed. Spirit encourages us to open the eyes of our hearts – blessings are still around us. Hope springs eternal. The question is, how do we act on this potential for good?

RIGHT: KNIGHT OF CUPS REVERSED. Here’s the Tarot’s advice for us as we embark on a new journey in 2017. The Knight of Cups is associated with passionate, emotionally-driven action. He’s the romantic ideal: the Knight in shining armour. When he’s upside-down, Spirit warns us against allowing our ideals and emotions to cloud the clarity of our intentions.

In other words, don’t let your feelings mislead you into making bad decisions. And if you’ve been using trendy catchphrases like I need to attain self-actualisation or I’m pursuing my passions and stepping into my power to justify dumbass choices and shitty, self-absorbed behaviour*, seriously. Grow up. No one is buying your shtick, and you can’t fool the Universe.

(*True stories.)

“SPIRIT WARNS US AGAINST ALLOWING OUR IDEALS AND EMOTIONS TO CLOUD THE CLARITY OF OUR INTENTIONS. DON’T LET YOUR FEELINGS MISLEAD YOU INTO MAKING BAD DECISIONS.”

2017 is at the door. Time to put away the old mindsets, practices and choices that dragged you down and blocked your access to your highest and greatest good. You deserve only the best, Co-Creator of your own destiny! It’s in your hands now – what will you do?

Have a great week ahead!

This Week’s Tarot, 28 Nov – 4 Dec 2016

20161127_005214

This week, the Sagittarius New Moon on Tuesday, 29 November infuses us with fresh energies for candid communication and opportunities for enhanced collaboration. Sagittarius is one zodiac sign that’s always up for new ideas and grand schemes, so fire away – just take note of Neptune’s close square at this time. Neptune rules imagination and creativity, but can lead us into distraction: remember to stay grounded and focused, and it’s all good.

Here’s This Week’s Tarot to lead us to bigger and better things. Here we go! 🙂

LEFT: THE EMPRESS REVERSED. When The Empress appears upside-down, it’s time to re-evaluate what you cherish in life, and how you show it. Could you be clinging on to something that no longer serves your highest good? Or have you been neglecting a situation that really deserves more TLC – like your health or a relationship, for instance? The Empress is the mother figure of the Tarot, and her topsy-turvy presence indicates either a lack of care or a lack of respect for boundaries.

MIDDLE: TEN OF SWORDS. Ooof. When this uncomfortable-looking card appears, a crisis is imminent; if you’re currently facing (or about to face) a difficult situation, look back to the reversed Empress for some clues as to how you got here, and how you can move forward. One nice thing I’ll say about this card, though: it’s not likely things can get much worse. Still, don’t let Neptune delude you into throwing an emo pity-party. Put the black eyeliner away; use the New Moon energies to get your act together and arise once more. You can do this.

RIGHT: KING OF SWORDS. This Week’s Tarot advises us to be like the King of Swords in dealing with our challenges – calmly, with rational thinking and clear, structured dialogue. In the Tarot, the suit of Swords represents logic, communication, and the power of mind over matter. This is a time to reach out and speak up for yourself, with people you can trust. Seek guidance where it is needed – someone in your life who’s known for his/her calm and rational instincts may prove to be of help. Above all, stay focused: keep your wits about you, think before you speak, and don’t be swayed by emotional extremes.

You’re going to be just fine. Hang in there. Have a wonderful week ahead!

This Week’s Tarot, 31 Oct – 6 Nov 2016

Here’s a pic of This Week’s Tarot with a couple of my holiday purchases: a facial mask and a bottle of virgin coconut oil, both organic. Ubud, a town in Bali, Indonesia, is well known for its arts and crafts; increasingly, it’s also becoming a hub for artisanal products and businesses promoting holistic living. Just thought to share with you where I’ve been the past couple of days!

The message in This Week’s Tarot is pretty uplifting for those of you who have found 2016 a rather challenging year. Here we go!

LEFT: NINE OF RODS REVERSED. When upright, this card indicates the preparation for a final battle, the drawing of a final boundary. Reversed, the Nine of Swords indicates that the war is far from over and there is a loss of motivation to carry on. Realisation is dawning that perhaps life is not all about battles to be fought and won. Could there be a better way?

MIDDLE: FOUR OF SWORDS REVERSED. The Four of Swords warns us against the perils of over-thinking. When reversed, two things might be happening: either you’ve reached a stage where you’re chronically exhausted from this mental rut, and/or you’re starting to realise that you can end this. Thinking and fretting in circles never solved any problems. What, then, can be done to end this stalemate?

RIGHT: JUSTICE. This Week’s Tarot suggests Justice as an effective solution or tie-breaker when nothing’s moving, but something’s got to give. Traditionally, Justice in the Tarot refers to the Universal Law of Karma. It speaks of the Golden Rule: Do unto others what you would desire them to do unto you.

Besides fair treatment, I would add a modern spin to the interpretation of Justice: Know your rights, and act on them. Some readers out there might currently be in situations where others are bending (or even outright breaking) the rules in their favour: abusive bosses, scheming colleagues, dysfunctional friends and loved ones, to name some examples.

Time to get up to speed on what is right and just in your situation, then act on it. Are you getting paid for all that over-time you’re pulling, and if not, what benefits are you receiving in return? Is your honey just moody by nature, or is there an underlying emotional abuse issue where you’re the target? As I mentioned in the Weekend Spirit Message, the New Moon in Scorpio begins a new season of change and transformation, where we are encouraged to break free from old fears and restrictions and create new lifestyles that affirm our authentic selves. The proximity of this New Moon to Mercury highlights the importance of making significant changes by communicating our truths honestly, and enlisting the help of supportive people around us.

Time for an honest look at yourself, too: if you’re the misbehaving boss, co-worker or spouse, then shape up and do the right thing! Karma is not a Law you want to mess with!

Have a great week ahead! 🙂

Weekend Spirit Message, 29-30 Oct 2016: Break free from secrets and restraints.

I’m writing this post at the front foyer of a cosy little holiday villa in the heart of rural Ubud, a town in Bali, Indonesia. We had a long and wonderful day today, re-connecting with nature and visiting some spiritual sites. It’s almost 10 pm now. The crickets are singing, the owls swoop past silently on their nightly hunts, the breeze is refreshing and slightly chilly as it crosses over the rice paddy fields right outside my door.

The night sky is filled with stars but I can’t actually see the moon right now, for a very simple reason: it’s a New Moon this Sunday 30 October. This New Moon in Scorpio brings with it incredible transformative power, because Scorpio is the sign that tends to be associated with secrecy, and as many of us know, it’s the things we keep secret – the things no one talks about – that can hold great (and sometimes terrible) power over us.

It’s the things we keep secret – the things no one talks about – that can hold great (and sometimes terrible) power over us.

This weekend, ask yourself what holds you back, shuts you up, ties you down, and restrains you from reaching your full potential. New Moons bring with them the energy of new beginnings. Perhaps it’s time to identify your glass ceilings, hidden traps, and invisible shackles – and release yourself from them. Break free from habits, relationships, and situations that no longer serve your highest good, but that you never dared to confront before.

This New Moon is closely situated to Mercury, the planet of communication. Folks, the message is clear: break free from your secret bondages with the assistance of others. Don’t be a stranger! Be courageous: share the unspoken issues that trouble you with people you can trust, or find a support network to assist you as you transform, liberating yourself from the bondage of your secret or suppressed concerns to attain the best life you are meant to lead.

Let this Sunday begin a season of change, rebirth, and new growth. The Full Moon in Scorpio falls on 10 May 2017, concluding this season of transformation. It may not be the easiest time, but it is for the best. You’ve got this.

Have a great weekend ahead! <3

This Week’s Tarot, 24-30 Oct 2016

Note: No Tarot card pic for this post because [spoilers ahead] The World popped up. This card depicts nudity and, in accordance with its ad policy, Facebook doesn’t allow me to publish it. Apologies and thanks for understanding! <3

We’ve just dived into Scorpio season, and already I’m hearing from clients and friends that they’re feeling emotionally tired or heavy. No surprise there, folks – the Moon is waning, after all – and good things are on their way because this Sunday 30 October is the New Moon in Scorpio! Right now what many people feel is the energy of burnout, weariness, and the ending of significant life cycles. But come this Sunday, the New Moon in Scorpio gives us the opportunity to arise from the ashes and start anew.

Scorpio is a fixed Water sign: Scorpio energies indicate that a tsunami of emotions might arise this week as we tackle difficult issues that we’ve managed to hide or suppress so far. But so long as we persevere and stay fixed on our course, in love, light and honesty, the New Moon at the end of this week presents us with opportunities to break free of the old patterns that hide our truth and hold us back, and create new ones that give us life.

Hang in there, folks, and here’s This Week’s Tarot! 🙂

LEFT: TEN OF WANDS. This card indicates the end of a cycle, stage, or project in your life. You’ve accomplished much. You’re also possibly exhausted, burnt out, and dealing with far more responsibilities than you can handle. Time to consider a break, (re-)establish boundaries, and/or (re-)allocate duties and responsibilities in a fairer, saner way for everyone? And if your answer to that is “I can’t” or “I won’t”, perhaps it’s time to ask yourself what might be up with the situation, the people around you, or even yourself, for you to reach this point.

MIDDLE: KING OF CUPS. The Tarot Kings indicates external mastery of their Suit; Cups in the Tarot represent emotions and the element of water (see the link to Scorpio here?). The message this King brings us is to stay calm and focus on controlling our emotions. By doing so, we get to see the big picture and going with the flow becomes less of a struggle.

Now let’s get this clear: true emotional control can only come about when we are first open and honest with our emotions, when we acknowledge them and find the right place for them in our lives. Suppressing them, over-indulging in them or killing them off with “logical reasoning” gets us nowhere. Good Kings don’t crush or hide from their subjects – they reign over them!

RIGHT: THE WORLD. This card refers to completion, closure, the Universally-ordained ending of a major cycle, stage, or project in your life. In a sense, it’s similar to the Ten of Wands but without the element of burnout – this card wants you to focus on the fact that whatever ended, or is about to end, is OVER. LET IT GO. Move forward to exciting new things, dear one. Stop clinging on to what you weren’t happy with over whatever just ended. Celebrate what you did achieve – and when The World appears, you’ve achieved A BIG DEAL. Well done! – and move on.

BONUS: THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE. When The Wheel of Fortune appears, we are reminded that the Universe moves in cycles. 2016 has been a challenging year for many, and if you’ve been feeling particularly hard done by these few months, this card reassures you that things are on the upswing for you. The trick is to maintain hope, confidence and optimism even when your emotions are screaming at you to wallow in self-pity and resentment.

As I mentioned earlier, Scorpio is a fixed Water sign. The flip side of fixed Water is a state where the Water element (aka our emotional state) stagnates and; left unchecked, the dark side of Scorpio energies can lead us into envy, resentment and bitterness. All the more we need to take a cue from the King of Cups and rule our feelings, not the other way around. This bears repeating:

tsunami of emotions might arise this week as we tackle difficult issues that we’ve managed to hide or suppress so far. But so long as we persevere and stay fixed on our course, in love, light and honesty, the New Moon at the end of this week presents us with opportunities to break free of the old patterns that hide our truth and hold us back, and create new ones that give us life.

Hang in there, and have a wonderful week ahead!

Weekend Spirit Message, 30 Sept – 2 Oct 2016: Energy Work.

This weekend presents us with the perfect opportunity to dial it down, energy-wise. The New Moon on 30 September/ 1 October offers us the potential to choose new beginnings, to plant the seeds that begin a new and better cycle of growth. Take time out this night/ early morning to visualise, write down, and/or speak out your goals for the coming weeks (for those born under the sign of Libra, set those goals for the whole year because Jupiter, the planet of good fortune and expansion, is in the house for ya!).

Then, dear one, after the seeds have been planted, take a breather. The Angel card portraying Energy Work frequently represents a need to heal and revitalise so our bodies, minds and spirits can operate at optimal levels. When this card appears, it’s a great time to get a massage, visit the spa, try out that yoga class you’ve been hearing about, or just nap. After weathering the rigorous, no-nonsense energies of September, let’s welcome the refreshing breezes of October with some well-deserved self-love.

Have a wonderful weekend! <3

This Week’s Tarot, 26 Sept – 2 Oct 2016

20160925_225117

(Sorry I had to use a generic pic as this post’s featured image. Facebook was being idiotic again. Anyway if you came to this post via FB, here’s the actual pic for This Week’s Tarot!)

Thank you to everyone who popped by Public Garden last weekend, either for a reading or a chat! 🙂 It was wonderful to catch up with old friends and make some new ones. I’m typing this in bed, totally zonked out but happy, and feeling very loved indeed. <3

This Week’s Tarot indicates that the coming week has the potential to be a game-changer if we play our cards right (see what I did there, haha). All three cards are Major Arcana, indicating that Universal forces are playing a more-than-usually significant role in the developments and outcomes of many events this week. So let’s work with the Universe to co-create our best possible destinies!

This week starts with a bang… a good one! On Monday 26 September, the Sun meets Jupiter (the planet of good fortune and expansiveness) in peace-loving, go-getting Libra. Lift those Monday blues with the assurance that, in terms of Universal energies, this Monday is one of the luckiest days of the year. Amp up your luck quotient by taking on this Libra season’s graces: focus on balance and harmony within yourself and in relationships with others.

It’s also interesting to note that this week’s Moon phase is waning, with a new Moon on 30 September/ 1 October. The energies of a waning Moon are conducive to getting rid of the old, and the new Moon sets the stage for us to usher in the new.

Since this is Libra season, the focus is particularly strong on relationships and partnerships. Could it be time to drop that toxic frenemy once and for all? Do you feel lucky – and brave – enough to ask that hottie from Accounts out for a quick coffee? Hmmm… decisions, decisions! 😉

Universal energies in mind, here’s This Week’s Tarot!

LEFT: THE HIGH PRIESTESS REVERSED. When the High Priestess appears reversed, get over your self-doubt and learn to trust your intuition. Dear one, perhaps you’ve just come through a tough time where missteps were made, and your confidence in your instincts has been shaken badly. Have no fear. Take some time out. Get some fresh air; exercise or meditate, do what you need to focus and re-centre yourself. The answers are still there, within your soul. Calm the inner storm and eventually, the voice of your intuition will be heard once again.

MIDDLE: JUSTICE REVERSED. What goes around, comes around. Justice in the Tarot is the personification of Karma. When Lady Justice is reversed, something unfair is happening in your vicinity. Make sure it’s not you causing the injustice because Karma bites hard. If you’re being affected by unjust treatment, it’s not likely to be something you can actually change, in which case, consider your options clearly and logically before taking the next step. Think long-term solution, not short-term evasion or confrontation. And don’t fret: trust that the Universe will take matters into Her own hands and restore the karmic balance in time.

RIGHT: DEATH. Nothing to fear here, folks! In the Tarot, Death represents change and transformation. Remember the waning/new Moon, disposing of the old and welcoming the new? This is exactly what we’re talking about. The energy for transitions is rising, and that’s a good thing. Don’t fight Universal energies… work with them. Let go of old, self-limiting mindsets, relationships and situations that no longer serve your highest good. Some doors must close in order that better ones open. The short-term discomfort we experience will be more than amply rewarded by the joy of knowing that the future is bright, and the best is yet ahead of us.

The door is opening. The Universe, your guardian Angels and deceased loved ones are watching over you and cheering you on. Will you take that step?

Be brave and be blessed. Have a great week ahead! 😀
