This week has so much to celebrate – I’m loving it! Here we go:

Starting from Wednesday, 18 October, Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and some Buddhist denominations all over the world celebrate Deepavali (also known as Diwali or Divali) for four or five days, depending on their beliefs. Deepavali means The Way of Light how I love that phrase! It coincides with the Hindu New Year and celebrates the victory of light over darkness, enlightenment over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.

Deepavali – ‘the way of light’ – celebrates the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair.

I’m not a Hindu, but many of the guides on my Spirit team are divinities from the Hindu pantheon, and I am SERIOUSLY HAPPY that Deepavali is almost here. Woots!!

(Maybe one day I’ll tell you guys how I was named after a Goddess. I WONDER WHO.)

This Deepavali, may you be filled with faith, hope and love as you choose to walk, every day, on the way of light.

Be brave and be blessed, My darlings!

Another date to watch out for: this Thursday, 19 October, marks this year’s only New Moon in harmonious, partnership-oriented Libra. (In Singapore, it’s on 20 October at 3:12 am.) New Moons carry the energy of fresh new beginnings – this Thursday is an EXCELLENT time to officially begin a relationship/partnership, or take your commitment in said relationship/partnership to the next level. This doesn’t pertain only to romantic ties – it’s also a wonderful time for friendships and business partnerships to blossom.

For Libras such as myself, this New Moon marks the start of our astrological year – it’s a birthday celebration of sorts. Time to make wishes and set intentions for how we want the coming year to turn out – I already know what I’m wishing for, and I can’t wait!

A word to the wise: on Thursday, the Sun and Moon in Libra are in opposition to Uranus in Aries. Uranus is the planet of expanding consciousness, and can be reckless in spunky Aries. Some struggles between intimacy and independence may arise, but they can be resolved easily with open hearts and honest communication. Don’t give up on love, bbs!!

One last note: there’s so much energy in the air that some of you folks who are sensitive to energies might be feeling overwhelmed or sad/irritable/[insert negative emotion] here. You know who you are – my advice to you is to hydrate, rest, and be kind to yourself. You might be noticing an extra push to assert yourself, and a greater inner clarity in October. It’s all good. Trust yourself – and very importantly, pace yourself.

Spirit loves you. and the Universe is very kind indeed.

On to the reading!

TAROT

LEFT: THE WORLD. With new beginnings come the endings of whatever no longer serves our highest good. The World is here to congratulate you on the passing of a previous cycle, and your taking things to another level. Positive change and transformation are here for you. Embrace what life has to offer!

MIDDLE: NINE OF PENTACLES REVERSED. The Nine of Pentacles, upright, represents material accomplishments and a job well done. Reversed, watch out for oversights and expect the unexpected – this is a time to be very, very careful and make sure that everything is done well on your watch. As a card that vibrates to the number Nine, the number of endings and closures, you want to make sure that whatever you sign off on is worthy of your capability.

Own your greatness – as well as your mistakes – and strive for progress fearlessly. This is how you walk in the way of light, darlings.

RIGHT: THE FOOL REVERSED. In the Tarot, the Fool is THE indicator of new beginnings! But when he’s reversed, the Fool reminds us to check and double-check our plans. Again, expect the unexpected – there might be delays and obstacles in your path towards a new cycle.

Do delays and obstacles mean that the Universe is necessarily saying NO, though? Hmmm… I’d say it’s more of a STOP, WAIT + CHECK YOURSELF kind of vibe I’m getting from this reading. And whether that pans out eventually to become a YES or NO depends a lot on how you tweak your plans + ideas. So get tweaking, and all best!

WISDOM OF THE ORACLE

BE BLESSED: YANG. Universal energies are blessing our proactive choices. This card signifies new life, potential + opportunities. Yes, the Tarot warned you earlier against blind faith and foolish endeavours – but cover your bases, and you’ll find that you have the power to move forward and manifest your destiny!

BE CAREFUL: BY THE BOOK. In the warning position, this card reminds you to ensure that whatever you do adheres to established precedents, and is found acceptable to those whose opinions matter. Does this mean you have to fake it and kiss ass? Hell no. But it’s important that you stick with what is right, because you want people on your side, not questioning you unnecessarily.

BE ADVISED: NO PLACE LIKE HOME. One way Spirit drills a message into our heads is through repetition, and this is the THIRD WEEK IN A ROW that No Place Like Home has appeared. Let’s take this seriously, bbs.

Spirit’s advice to us this week is to learn to be comfortable in our own skin. To know and to love who we are, what we stand for, and where we draw the line. To own our greatness and our mistakes, and tirelessly strive for progress (I love how the Oracle dovetails with the Tarot’s message for us!).

You may be challenged this week. Know who you are, and stand firm in the light.

Have a lovely week ahead!
