Before we begin, let’s just get the bad news out of the way first. The next couple of lunations (moon cycles) are not going to be pleasant. The Full Moon in Libra arrives on 7 or 8 April, depending on where you are in the world – but this is preceded about 7.5 hours before by Mars, planetary ruler of aggression, forming an abrasive square with Uranus, planetary ruler of sudden crises and unexpected upheaval.
The COVID-19 outbreak will continue. We can forget about going back to normal by mid-April (unlike what some folks seem to think).
Unfortunately, Mars square Uranus so near the Full Moon will bring out the crazy + aggro in some folks. The conspiracy theorists, pointless rule-breakers, and histrionic drama queens will be flying their freak flags high. Mars is currently in Aquarius, the zodiac sign governing media (especially social media and the internet); Uranus is in Taurus, which rules the second house of personal finances. So you’ll be seeing a lot of drama and fake news playing out on social media. Unfortunately, it could also mean that some folks will incur losses of money, businesses, or jobs during this time.
Watch out for scammers! Anyone who offers you a quick fix, miracle cure, or once-in-a-lifetime financial opportunity at this time is likely to be misguided at best.
Let’s get to the reading stat!
LEFT: THE MOON REVERSED. The Moon appears as the anchor card of this week’s reading. It is a reminder that whatever you seek is also seeking you.
The viral outbreak has brought about dark and difficult times for many, but you are not completely lost. If you seek clarity, it will come to you. If you seek the truth, you will find it. Conversely, if you choose to believe just anything that pops up on your social media feed, you’ll be misled and confused even further.
This week and always, choose the path of peace and wisdom.
Curate whatever information you consume – make sure you’re getting updates about the viral outbreak from credible sources only. Do not give in to panic, despair, or superstition. Unfollow, mute, or block those in your life and social media who insist on spreading lies, hatred, and drama.
The Moon brings a strangely comforting message in the way that it reassures us of this: life is imperfect, and our knowledge will never be complete. But we are still responsible for the choices we make in life, and thankfully we don’t actually need perfect information in order to move forward.
You don’t need to know or control everything in order to move forward.
The Moon still shines, even when it’s not full.
MIDDLE: SIX OF WANDS REVERSED. This card encourages us to keep moving forward with our lives, but also to be mindful that we do not fall into either extreme of insecurity + paranoia, or arrogance + complacency.
Here in Singapore, the situation is still tolerable for now. We’re adjusting to life under a set of strict, but necessary inconveniences; new cases are still being reported, but not to an extent that suggests the situation is out of control. Dear fellow Singaporeans: we are still not out of the woods yet. That’s not going to happen for a long time. Please keep practicing social responsibility so we, as a nation, can break free from this crisis together. #SGUnited
My friends and readers in other countries where lockdowns have been implemented, and the rate of reported cases never seems to slow down: do not give in to fear. You are going to be okay. We will all get through this. The nature of all things is change. This too shall pass – it might take longer than expected, but it will end. Hang in there.
RIGHT: NINE OF WANDS. This card is a reality check that humanity’s battle against COVID-19 (and its impact on the global economy and everyday life) is not going to end anytime soon. The Nine of Wands, aka The Card of the Wounded Soldier, indicates that more struggles are coming – some of which could be entirely unexpected. Salvation is so near, yet so far. But this is not the time to give up, or to let your guard down. Stand your ground and get ready for further battles.
With the Nine of Wands as the final card in the Tarot reading, more battles are imminent – but we shall overcome.
GODDESS GUAN YIN DIVINATION
LOT NUMBER: 62
Morning and evening, pray for Divine assistance.
With Heaven’s help, danger may be near, but it will not hurt us.
Gracious support from benevolent ones
Will bring you abundance as well.
(Trans Tan Kelly)
Even in troubled times, the Goddess has not forgotten us. We are reminded to pray – the power of prayer is unequalled in its ability to draw down Divine blessing, healing, and protection.
When this lot is drawn, 神佛暗佑之象。凡事忍耐大吉也。This lot speaks of Divine protection and grace. You are encouraged to refrain from worry, and to endure the current stresses in faith, knowing that hope and breakthrough are coming. The final outcome is 大吉, which indicates a strongly positive change in fortunes.
How best to work with the energies of this lot? The traditional interpretation states:
平平稳稳 四方名显 改旧从新 亦无凶险
There is an underlying steadiness in the progress of the situation you’re facing, despite its apparent volatility. This situation may seem intimidating, but do not be shaken by the noise and chaos. Whatever your plans are – even if they require you to make a major change, transformation, or renewal in your life – you are likely to succeed, and all dangers will be averted.
Have a great week ahead!
