Welcome to the final week of 2019! Some of you are, no doubt, glad to see it go. I’m happy with how things turned out in 2019, and also happy to welcome 2020! Gosh, how shall I describe the shift in energies from this year to the next?
You know that phrase, Out of the frying pan into the fire…?
If you thought karma seemed to cut a little sharper, bite a little harder, slap our faces a little faster in 2019, oh honey, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
2019 was karma warming up. In 2020, She will flex for real.
I’ll explain the astrological forces behind that in next week’s article. For now, the big event in the skies is the annular solar eclipse in Capricorn on 26 December, which will be visible in Singapore. It begins at 1:22 pm, hits maximum eclipse at 1:23 pm, and will be over by 3:18 pm (all times are given in Singapore time).
Eclipses are the Universe’s Reset button. The energies of eclipses are often associated with beginnings and endings, and tend to bear a higher degree of predestination. They also act as crossroads for us to make significant decisions, as well as tests/challenges for us to learn and grow.
Depending on your birth chart and where Capricorn features in it, you’ll be experiencing an opportunity to transform when the eclipses hit (eclipses usually come in pairs or trios, and this is the first one of the current season). On a higher level, expect to see big changes affecting institutions of power/finance, and traditional, male-dominated systems – areas ruled by stern, practical, conservative Capricorn.
There’s no getting out of eclipses and eclipse season – although if it’s not visible from where you live in the world, you’ll be impacted slightly less by its energies. You will benefit greatly from embracing the new, releasing the old, and rolling with the punches.
Because eclipses always throw punches. Always.

Ah, it looks like 2019 ends with a reminder/warning. All three cards are in reverse, indicating delays, setbacks, and a holding back of the blessing that will come upon those who move forward with courage.
Who’s holding back their own blessing? Make sure it’s not you.
LEFT: TWO OF PENTACLES REVERSED. You’ve tried multi-tasking and failed spectacularly. But you’re not alone: studies have shown that multi-tasking is actually a lie. The human brain simply isn’t capable of handling more than one complex task at a time; attempts to multi-task, in the long run, only lead to higher stress levels and lower productivity.
You know what you need to do. Stop messing around. FOCUS. And you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
MIDDLE: ACE OF PENTACLES REVERSED. Because if you don’t get your act together and muster all your energies/resources into getting that main task done, everything else will fall by the wayside. The Ace of Pentacles refers to concrete, tangible new opportunities that will take your life to another level. It’s usually associated with new jobs, income-generating ideas, engagements, pregnancies… all the good things in life.
When the Ace of Pentacles is upside-down, it’s held back. You’re not getting the blessing you deserve because you’re not doing what you need to do.
And the long-term outcome of this?
RIGHT: JUDGEMENT REVERSED. The long-term outcome of not focusing your energies on reaching out and grabbing that new opportunity is Judgement in reverse.
Nothing good happens. You’re stuck. Slowly but surely, you’re sinking further in the mud. It’s getting harder to move, to change, to breathe, to live the life you want.
Is your life only good for remaining stuck in limbo indefinitely? Do you not deserve better? Of course you do.
Focus. Get sh*t done. Take your life to the next level.
