I had to tweak the original quote because it was a bit unrealistic, to be honest: it promises that “Life is launching you towards greater things” if your life is looking drab at the moment.
Ohhh, honey – no spiritual bullshit here Yes and No.
Yes if you’ve been doing what’s right, working on yourself, and raising your vibrations with a pure heart. No if your poor choices and crappy misdeeds were what got your life in a bad spot in the first place.
For many of us, Life and the Universe will eventually launch us forward after weeks and months of dragging us back. Where we’ll be launched – either up towards the stars or down into a flaming dumpster – depends on us, our choices, our thoughts and actions. Our karma.
This is how karma works: we are both the arrow as well as, to some extent, the archer. We can’t control the wind factor. We don’t know when exactly the string might break. But we can choose the right targets, time ourselves wisely, take aim – and fire.
What we do know, and what we can control, we do so to the best of our ability. With focus and purity, we can and will fly forward to achieve our dreams.
This week, though, we’re being pulled back. Three planetary giants follow Pluto’s lead (Pluto went retrograde on 25 April) and retrograde:
- 11 May: Saturn retrogrades from Aquarius into Capricorn. This lasts about four months. Review your karma objectively and take responsibility for your choices – both as an individual and as a member of a greater collective.
- 13 May: Venus retrogrades in Gemini. This lasts about six weeks. Watch out for insecurities over relationships and/or issues with finances. There’s a chance of meeting a soul mate during this period, but don’t make it official until the retrograde ends.
- 14 May: Jupiter retrogrades in Capricorn. This lasts about four months. This will test your ability and determination to manifest your desired outcomes. Those who persevere with humility and gratitude will be greatly blessed.

RIGHT: THE EMPEROR. This card appeared two weeks ago, reversed, in a previous weekly reading – and now he’s back upright! The Emperor is a reminder to stay in your power, claim your authority, and take responsibility for yourself (and others where appropriate).
Numerologically, The Emperor is Major Arcanum Four, and is also the Tarot card whose number resonates with the energies of the year 2020 (2+0+2+0=4). This card could be a reminder to us that in 2020, the Universe isn’t playing. Either we buck up and get our act together, standing firm in our personal power and unshakeable even in tough times – or we fall, clattering, to the ground… misaligned and wasted arrows.

Peeps on lockdown, stay-home notice, quarantine, circuit breakers, whatever you call ’em! This week’s divination lot encourages us to maintain a consistent standard of excellence in our hard work. This lot states: 志气功名之象。凡事守常大吉也。”Work hard to fulfil your ambitions and never give up. Keep up the good work and all will turn out very well.”
(I’m having a good laugh at the third line of the poem because I’m pretty sure lots of people are waking up later nowadays, myself included.)
But some things in life don’t change – especially the formula for success. Be of good cheer, my darlings: the Goddess is watching over you, and She wants you to achieve your soul’s purpose and life goals.
So do your part, both as archer and as arrow. The great and wondrous Goddess – She makes the winds of blessing blow, and She knows when our bow strings will finally break.
She knows all – and still loves us, because of (and in spite of) what She knows.
