Depending on where you live in the world, this week’s Full Moon in Aries will fall either on 13 or 14 October (in Singapore, it’s on 14 October at 5:07 am). This Full Moon recharges our energies, bringing us both crisis (Full Moon square Pluto) and opportunity (Moon trine Jupiter) – many of you will be feeling like you’ve come full circle in some way, especially in the area of relationships and partnerships. Be honest and direct, but don’t stumble into impulsive territory – Aries is prone to reckless behaviour.
This week’s reading is a bit of a wake-up call. Let’s get to it!
LEFT: EIGHT OF WANDS. Busy times ahead. The Eight of Wands indicates the arrival of many options and possibilities. This week could be productive and eventful for many; travel is also indicated when this card appears, and is likely to go well. There is, however, the potential for too much of a good thing – I don’t like the way those wands seem to be hurtling their way straight at the Queen of Cups. Is a collision imminent?
MIDDLE: QUEEN OF CUPS. This is a card of emotional introspection and inner mastery. The Queen of Cups stares deeply into her chalice, gaining deep wisdom and understanding of herself – this is the card of turning inward and seeking the answers within.
In this spread, it seems almost as if the Queen’s reverie is about to be rudely interrupted by the Eight of Wands, flying directly onto her lap. Beware that your own inner focus is not similarly disrupted by external distractions; certainly don’t allow them to poison the well of your Spiritual growth and intuition.
RIGHT: SEVEN OF CUPS REVERSED. In one word: focus! In this spread, it’s clear that the Tarot is advising us to concentrate on achieving the outcomes we desire, seeking our answers from within, and mindfully filtering the options before us. We need to be brutally honest with ourselves, and acknowledge that not all options are made equal.
Many options in life look good, but look below the surface.
Focus on true, inner value.
Hidden rot, hollow promises, and empty dreams are plenty. Cast them aside.
GODDESS GUAN YIN DIVINATION
LOT NUMBER: 54
You gain treasure in a dream;
Once you awaken, it’s gone.
All that ‘treasure’ was false!
Whatever it is you enquire about –
It is better to look elsewhere.
(Trans. Tan Kelly)
I love how the Tarot and the Goddess divination lots affirm each other’s messages! This lot echoes the reversed Seven of Cups in warning us not to strive after illusions. The situation ahead could be unclear, or filled with distractions and the appearance of options (Eight of Wands). But turn inward and anchor yourself in your higher truth (Queen of Cups); focus only on the options that possess genuine value, and cast out the rest (reversed Seven of Cups). Some of you may have to seek options elsewhere – keep your minds and eyes open.
The traditional explanation of this lot also adds:
Whatever is destined to happen will manifest without your meddling.
I love how blunt the old-school divination lots can be, haha! Yet the truth lies in plain sight: we make the right choices, we take effective action, we do our best.
Then we leave the outcomes to the Divine – what is meant to manifest will surely blossom and bear fruit in the right season.
Have a great week ahead!
