This week’s New Moon in Capricorn could be a game changer. Use its energies well.
Depending on where you live on this planet, the New Moon in Capricorn will occur on either 16 or 17 Jan. This New Moon is the latest addition to a crowded Capricorn, where the Sun, Venus, Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto already are. With so many heavenly influences in the zodiac sign associated with masculine power and the construction of empires, you’re advised to sow your seeds wisely.
This New Moon, remember: Capricorn demands total commitment. Whatever you set your intentions on, you’re in it for the long haul.
On 20 Jan, the Sun moves into cool-headed + warm-hearted Aquarius, starting off a new season’s worth of energies. Aquarius energy is all about humanitarian causes, community activities, and a big dose of tech! If Aquarius were human, this fixed Air sign would be the quirky, bespectacled geek who calmly invents the vaccine that saves the world from a zombie apocalypse, then goes back to living a quiet life… like it’s no big deal.
Let’s get to the reading!
LEFT: QUEEN OF PENTACLES REVERSED. When this card appears upside-down, watch out for Doormat Syndrome: someone’s allowing themselves to be stepped on, and someone else is stomping down like crazy! Get your guard up and establish healthy boundaries when this Queen turns up reversed.
Also watch out for Petty B*tch Syndrome: the reversed Queen of Pentacles can indicate female insecurity, and portends the awful behaviours that arise when women don’t honour themselves and/or each other. The reversed Queen of Pentacles is seen in action via unfair treatment, sabotage, gossip + politicking, especially amongst women at the workplace. Oy. It’s always ugly when it happens.
Like I always say: make sure it’s not you! #karma
MIDDLE: KNIGHT OF SWORDS. This week is a good time to get to the core of things. Knights in the Tarot represent action, and the Suit of Swords signifies all things logical, intellectual, and communicative. You’re encouraged to be investigative, ask the right questions, encourage healthy discussion where it would be helpful, and seek clarity in all things.
Just a note: the Knight of Swords can offend some. Folks with things to hide are not going to like what you’re doing, so be discreet.
RIGHT: SEVEN OF SWORDS REVERSED. This is the card of the Thief, the Lone Wolf, and the Sneaky B*stard. Upside-down, it’s a reminder that Karma is real. That which is hidden will be revealed; that which has been stolen will be returned.
If you’ve done something wrong (i.e. behaved like a reversed Queen of Pentacles), make it right before someone else (i.e. a real-life Knight of Swords) investigates and exposes your sh*t. Get clean and stand on the side of the righteous.
STOP BEING A PETTY B*TCH and COME TO THE LIGHT!
WISDOM OF THE ORACLE
BE BLESSED: CHAOS AND CONFLICT. “Kelly, you’re kidding me… how can chaos and conflict be a blessing?” I hear you, bbs. The truth is this: we can’t control what happens around us, but we can focus on how we respond to the triggers and tensions around us.
remember this: you can turn a challenge, any challenge, into a blessing. it’s all about perspective.
You can choose the higher road.
No one is forcing you to mud-wrestle naked with the village idiot.
Your job is to be clear about what you want at the end of the confrontation, and stick with your agenda no matter what low blows they throw at you. Practice the art of selective attention, and learn to filter out stupidity, malice, and whatever bullshit comes your way.
Do it for yourself. You deserve sanity.
BE CAREFUL: YANG. In the warning position, this card is a reminder that you don’t need to get aggressive to get what you want. Yang denotes active masculine energy – exactly the sort of energy you don’t need when dealing with people you already want to throttle on a daily basis.
Hold back, and take it out on a karaoke mic or a kickboxing class instead, k?
BE ADVISED: THE FATES. When this card appears, I’m reminded of the prayer: “God, grant me the serenity to accept what I cannot change, the courage to change what I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”. And it’s true: once you know where your locus of power + control lies, you’ll find it much easier to focus.
Get rid of the delusion that you can control anything outside of yourself.
I want to end this reading with my little observation that the karmic energies this week are STRONG, and I’m expecting to see a heavier karmic hand around here for a long while.
Why? Astrologers would say: because Saturn, the Lord of Karma, arrived in Capricorn – its ruling sign – last month, and will be here for the next 2.5 years.
Folks who are sensitive to energies, and who have the Spiritual eyes to see, will have noticed for some time that evolution + enlightenment are now occurring at an unprecedentedly rapid pace.
This world is polarising. The Light gets brighter, purer, higher… and this brings out the darkness in even starker relief than before.
The question is: which side are you on?
If you are living a life of honesty, integrity, kindness and compassion, good for you. If you are involved in something shady as hell and you think Karma won’t catch up, think again.
Take it from me: I’ve noticed Karma speeding up nowadays. The Law of Action and Consequence has upgraded to serve you better… and much faster.
Do Not Fuck With Karma. Stir shit with others, and you will eat that shit.
Conversely, do good to others with a pure heart, and nothing will stop the divine from blessing you powerfully.
Have a great week ahead!
