The Moon is getting busy! Exerting its pull on our inner selves as it always does, the Moon swooshes through idealistic Pisces for the first half of the week, meeting dreamy Neptune on Monday and passionate Venus on Tuesday. Universal energies encourage us to work on ourselves, articulating our hidden urges and desires in order to make them a reality.
“Universal energies encourage us to work on ourselves, articulating our hidden urges and desires in order to make them a reality.”
Many times, what we think we want isn’t exactly what would make us happy, and vice versa. This week’s energies urge us to define which is which, in order to reconcile our hopes and wishes with the realities and constraints we work with every day. Or maybe it’s time to re-chart your map… but you won’t know until you actually understand and can express what it is that you desire!
So this week, take time out to meditate, write in your journal, or chat with a trusted counsellor. Let your subconscious take over; allow your ideas and emotions to run wild and free in a safe space. The Moon is associated with the subconscious mind and with tears; let yourself cry if you feel it coming, and don’t judge your words and thoughts even if they sound, well, lunatic (a term derived from the Latin lunaticus, which literally means of the moon).
Sometimes you need to release old, mixed and/or pent-up energies before you can access your own inner truth. This process of release can also be incredibly healing. It’s all good.

Let’s get to This Week’s Tarot!
LEFT: QUEEN OF CUPS. When the Queen of Cups appears in a reading, we are urged to focus on our inner being and emotional health. This Queen reminds us that once we get past the bullshit of obsessing over mundane stuff and keeping up with the Joneses, when we really delve into our souls and clarify what we truly desire, our Higher Selves have the answer we seek. We can trust our inner voice once we consciously choose to be honest with ourselves. The question, then, is how to access that intuitive wisdom that we each hold within us.
“We can trust our inner voice once we consciously choose to be honest with ourselves.”
MIDDLE: FIVE OF CUPS REVERSED. This card signifies loss, adversity, and the disappointment that comes with such challenging situations. Here, the Five of Cups has chosen to appear ill-dignified (upside-down) – and that’s an encouraging sign because it means that the emotional issues + disappointments you have experienced are well within your control. They’re a reflection of your inner insecurities, not your external environment. Time to let go of the grief and grudges you’ve been bearing unconsciously – don’t let them get a hold on you and block your access to healing, wisdom and self-growth.
RIGHT: FIVE OF SWORDS REVERSED. Another Five appears, and ill-dignified again! Five, in Tarot numerology, is the number associated with dynamic growth through unexpected occurrences, challenges and adversity. Here, the reversed Five of Swords indicates issues with trust and personal ethics. It’s a good time to reflect on whom/what you can trust, whom/what you’ll need to keep at arm’s length (assuming you can’t get rid of them), and whom/what you’re better off leaving altogether.
Spirit also encourages us to consider how we treat ourselves and others. Are we paranoid or overly trusting? Living lives of integrity, or no better than the people we judge? What factors influence us to behave in less-than-honourable ways, and how can we change in order to lead our best lives?
“Spirit also encourages us to consider how we treat ourselves and others.”
Lots to think about, and lots to gain from doing the inner work.
Have a great week ahead!
